Frequently asked questions
Quick answers about check-in, lessons, courts and the clubhouse.
FAQ
Do I need to check in?
Yes. All players, guests, visitors, lesson players and event players must check in with the Club Monitor before going to the courts.
I’m new. Will I find partners?
The Tuesday daytime and Wednesday night round robins bring out all levels, and many players find partners there. Ladders, tournaments and special events help too. See ways to play.
Do I need to be a member to take lessons?
No. Lessons are open to non-members, and junior membership comes with any junior program. Parents who aren’t members pay a guest fee to play with their child (see guest policy).
What do I need?
Proper tennis clothes and tennis shoes. Sunscreen and a hat or visor on sunny days. Bring your own filled water bottle; refill it at the fountain at the end of the building or the clubhouse dispenser. Balls are sold online and provided for socials.
Why can’t I book Court 6?
Court 6 is usually reserved for lessons or summer camps. When it isn’t in use for those, members can book it.
Can I book a court to practise serving?
No, a booking needs two names. Ask the Club Monitor or email the club about non-peak times.
Someone booked a court in my name without asking.
Email info@tptc.ca right away so it doesn’t count against your bookings. Once verified, the booking is cancelled.
What if it rains?
Bookings are cancelled as soon as the Monitor or a Board member sees the courts aren’t playable, and you’ll get an email. If you haven’t been notified, you’re still expected to show up.
How do I make a suggestion to the Board?
Talk to the Monitor on duty or a Board member, email info@tptc.ca, or speak at the Annual General Meeting in October.
